Tapestry of Hope Fashion Show + Luncheon

Tapestry of Hope Fashion Show + Luncheon benefiting Hope’s Door New Beginning Center would like to provide a fashionable scarf for guests as a take home gift. This will be the fourth year for this professionally produced fashion show with professional models. The event has been called the best fashion show in Collin County.

We are looking for an artist to do an original design that we will produce for the current year event. Each year the design will be different with the intention for this to be a collectable item and favorable opportunity for the selected artist.

I would like to choose a design by June 20, 2019 so submissions will be required by then.
Tapestry of Hope is Sept. 6, 2019.

The scarf design can be suitable for either a 36” square or 10” x 60” rectangle.
The format for the selected design to be provided for printing is Adobe Illustrator in Outlines.

Some suggestions: Since the event is in the fall, fall colors could be used. Our agency colors are purple for domestic violence and teal for sexual assault, but those colors do nothave to be used. Tapestry of Hope can be incorporated into the scarf design but is not required.

400-500 scarves will be printed and distributed to guests and sponsors. The artist is able to provide a card or tag to be attached to the scarf and they will also be listed in the program as the scarf artist. The artist will also be our guest at the event.

My Home Cleaning and Organizing Tips

I used to own a lot of stuff when I was still living in my mother's house. To be frank, I used to be a hoarder. But getting married and settling down in a condo has forced me to change my buying habits; it was hard especially for a beauty blogger who deals with lots and lots of beauty products on a weekly basis. But I'm glad I've changed for the better and have learned to trim down my stuff, kept the ones that matter, and I've come up with my own ways to keep my flat clean, organized, and tidy.

1. I GO FOR SMART CLEANING SOLUTIONS

- Back in my childhood home, we used to have a separate bathroom cleaner, floor cleaner, surface cleaner, kitchen cleaner; all these cleaners that came in big, space- consuming jugs and jars!

I only bought a small cleaning caddy and told myself that I will only have space for things that will fit in my caddy. So instead of going for different types of cleaners, I'd go for a multi- purpose cleaner and my go- to is Pine-Sol. It's a highly concentrated product that I don't need a lot every time I clean; just 1/4 cup of Pine-Sol to a pail of water and I can clean almost every nook and cranny of my home, plus unlike most household cleaners, it doesn't reek of a strong chemical scent. I love the lemon fragrance! I can use it to clean stovetops, countertops, floors, tiles, walls, and glass.

LATE EVENING SUNSHINE AND SOME BONUS LEGS

It's nice when it is summer and the nights are pale and light again!
Here we are outside at 10pm.

It is also nice when it is warm and one can wear light clothing in just one layer.
Dresses. No socks, no jacket.

And it's even nicer when your dress is not a dress but has legs! Ha!

keratin plus hair treatment review
THE VERDICT:

A hair mask has been part of my daily routine ever since I started coloring my locks; since my hair's very fine, it's more prone to frizz, flyaway, and damage is more pronounced. I learned recently that bleaching is not for me as my hair's gotten completely dry. Now I need hair mask more than ever!

I recently received samples of Keratin Plus Hair in Black and Gold; wasn't expecting anything because my hair's used to more high end masks (just because they're more concentrated and my hair seems to react better to these kinds of masks), but the saying "don't judge a book by its cover" has never become truer in this case: Keratin Plus Hair is an amazing discovery of mine for smooth, silky hair! Can't believe I only discovered it now!

Papardelle with Dairy Chilli Sauce

With the holiday of Shavuos a couple of days ago, I decided to set up a couple of simple yet tasty ideas for the family table. After all, I graciously missed all the previous holidays in terms of sharing recipes at least one single time - before the High Holidays in autumn - to be on point.
I am starting with an easy and fast - within 30 minutes - recipe, which combines healthy, simple and dairy ingredients. Plus, it has my beloved pasta in it, therefore I couldn't wait to test, taste it and live to write another tasty foodie story.

The type of pasta used are papardelle, a large, very broad flat, cut into a ribbon shaped pasta (in Italian, pappare means to gobble up). They require around 6-7 minutes of boiling. I prepared a one liter water with one teaspoon of salt. When the water starts to boil, I added the pasta and let it boil. For a portion of two persons, I used the equivalent of 100 gr. of papardelle.

The ingredient that gives the full spicy taste to the meal is chilli. I used 1/2 teaspoon of homemade, brought to me by my Turkish friend from her hometown in Trabzon. They are so strong, that even the smallest amount put your mouth on fire.

The sauce is the most important part of the meal, as its success - or failure - is crucial for setting the gourmet standards for your meal. It is very important that each ingredient is added one by one, mixing well and allowing the different tastes and flavours to melt.

For the sauce, I used the following ingredients
100 gr. butter
6 medium-sized garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 tablespoon chilli
125 gr. sour cream - buttermilk can also be used alternativelly

Directions

Melt the butter in a pan at 250C. In a separate bowl, add the olive oil, the garlic, the chilli, the sour cream, the melted butter. Mix them until you have a homogenous creamy paste.

Now, it is about time to put all the ingredient together and prepare your pasta plate.
Once the papardelle are ready and drained, add the sauce on a pan at 250C, and mix well, until all the sides of the pasta are covered. Put on the top 50gr. Peccorino hard cheese and mix for another couple of minutes.
Your delicious bowl of pasta is ready. Serve it warm, in the company of a lemonade or a glass of cold white wine.
